About Tom Cromwell (barkingdigger)
FROM: ENGLAND - EAST ANGLIA, UNITED KINGDOM

A Yank living overseas on a long-term basis, I've been building tanks since the early '70s. I relish the challenges of older kits (remember when Tamiya was "new"?...) because I love to scratch-build.

Hi Al, Sorry there aren't more pics - as soon as I started snapping they mounted up and drove off to join the cavalcade! (Or was it something I said?...) Tom

Great pictures. I love the look of the M8!!!!! If you notice, this M8's two tail lights are the same i.e. both have red oval lenses on top. To the unwary modeler, they might just take this as "how it was" when in actuality, the right side has been altered to make it "street legal" In wartime, fresh from the factory, the upper right lens was NOT a red oval but a black rectangle instead. Modelers should try their best to ferret out little details when looking at restorations. Once a person on Track Link argued with me up and down about this exact same situation. When pressed for his "evidence" he cited an M38 Jeep he had bought from a restorer. I asked him was it street legal and he said "of course it was". I ended the argument by informing him that the previous owner had altered them. No more replies.
