T28 Super Heavy Tank

  • move
Matt Flegal shares with us some images of the remaining T-28 Super Heavy tank. The Super Heavy T-28 tank was the American equivalent of the British Tortoise, these heavy tanks were going to be the Allies answer to the German heavy tanks but World War 2 ended before they were ready for action and so never saw action.

My favorite kind of kit, big and impractical.

The picture is in front of the Armor/Calvary Museum at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Do not know if the T28 belongs to the Patton Museum or the Armor/Calvary Museum. The Armor/Calvary Museum holdings were moved to Fort Benning, Georgia, when the Armor Center and the Infantry Center were consolidated into the Manuever Center.

The T28 now resides at Ft. Benning.

Thank you, sir. I've got the Dragon kit and will tackle it pretty soon (I'm a bit burned out on HVSS suspesion units right now). Dave

My nightmare as a platoon Sgt would be to have this pig stuck in three foot of mud with the inside track thrown to the inside.
