Finishing up my T-35 and I have one more question. The PE set came with a well looking thing that mounts on the left fender just in front of the strcture for the main turret. I have only ssenn this item on a hand full of the 3 handfuls of pics I have on the t-35. Does anyone know what this part is for. It appears to be some type of pulley but I am not sure.

Scott,

Is it the Eduard PE set you have? What is/are the part number/s from the PE set?

Yes useing the Eduard set Not a bad set but not sure why some of the parts are included as the kit parts are better. Any way it is sub assy B parts 41,66,31. For the life of me I can not figure out what this thing is and why it is it or miss if they were seen in combat.

Hi Scott,

if you refer to the pulley/winch-like item, this is called "track assembly rope" on pg. 32 of #159 (T-35/SMK/T-100) of militaria from poland. A similar item could be spotted on the other sides fenders on the later variants with conical turrets.

For more details: http://grayknight.narod.ru/T-35_info/T-35_info.htm (sadly the link to their huge galery is broken :-(( )

HTH!?

Volker
