I'm more excited about this release than most I've heard about recently. I keep pretty much no stash, but this is one I'll probably buy immediately.

Wunderfull, and I have collected a lot of "Imperial" Ausf. G and H´s over the last year to marriage them with the Ausf. F Smart kit.....
As always, sh....happens.

But checking the first model pictures on ML, I see two mistakes:

Looking on the turret, it seems DML has simply overtaken the turret of their Ausf. J "inital", because the protected visors coverplates on the "Walzenblende" of the gun are the larger (=longer) one, introduced on the Ausf. J, and not the one used on the G/H, which are lower in total height.
So for this, the old "Imperial Series" is more accurate.

And on the turret roof they have moulded 8 screws of the counterweight support, first introduced with the 5 cm Kwk/L60 of the late Ausf. J and L. So this has to be closed for an Ausf. H (and even on the Ausf. J "Initial")

They are looking to complete the lineup. I saw a comment from Tom Cockle over at ML that the Ausf. G isn't too far off. Maybe they will offer an upgunned F.

I can understand that some will welcome this release, but as far as my opinion goes:

...

Rob,
It seems that everyone has forgotten a time not so long ago when the only panzer III kit available was Tamiya's III M, and we all dreamed of the magical land where every variation and type of armor existed in kit form.... Now that this has become more of a reality, it appears that many are not very thankful or appreciative of those that have helped for making this a reallity for our pleasure.

For my two cents, I applaude DML and welcome the release, any release that is new tooling is a good thing.

It only makes sense that any company would replace their old releases as new technology and better quality become available if they wish to remain competitive.

I guess we are all too spoiled now . Every version of the Tiger , All the different Stugs ,and Tasca seems to trying to make every Sherman . So I guess if your not a real fan of new release vehicle its " boring" . Panzer III , built one , Tamiya's M/N back in 1976 ,so I'm good .
