Italeri Has re-released their Land Rover 109’ Long Wheel Base model onto the market which despite its age I am sure will still be welcomed by some.

Great news! This one has been away for far too long; even in its original Italeri guise (ie before Revell "Anglicised" it) this was a great little kit. Sadly, at the time I just didn't realise it (mid to late 70s)and never gave it the loving care it needed, or indeed, bothered to lay down sufficient stocks.

Add a Firing Line or Accurate Armour trailer and you will have an iconic vehicle of the British Army of the 70s and 80s.

Note that Firing Line - a UK firm - provide a decent accessory set as well as a Wombat 120mm Anti Tank gun.

Enjoy! I know I will this time around.

I guess I can see now it's right-hand steering

The ones offered recently by Azimut are left-hand drive.. maybe I'll take the risk and order some of those!!

The Land Rover Series II version (as in this kit) was introduced in 1971 and was used through the '70s and '80s. It was replaced in the early '90s with the current LR110 Defender series.

Nice to see this kit finally reissued . Just hope this mid -1970s kit isn't going to sell at 2010 price$. Still end up getting at least one

Nice to see this out again as you say replace the wheels which have one to many bolts...and the civilian rear crossmember and she still makes into a lovely model..

It's still a decent kit after all these years.

Thread titles' a bit misleading though.

Bought a few of the original release in the past, but missed the Revell reissue when I stopped Military Modelling for a while. So now that I've returned to it I bought some of the Italeri retooled versions - what we now have a very good RHD British Army Land Rover Ser III. They reworked the dash, steering linkage, fuel filler removed, reworked the canopy, and added new mirrors.
However the wheels are still terrible (replace with Accurate Armour) and they forgot fuel tanks under the seats. But they are minor gripes compared to the price - £23 in the UK.
Twenty three quid!
You can buy a tank for that!

Did they ever release a version of this kit with left-hand steering?
