Doesn't look like they did anything to the top hull; you can see the ring that the turret rotates/slides on.

I could be wrong though.

You're right, but that's not necessarily the final CAD.

hmmmm.. looks like they didn't do much but add a new turret to an existing hull .. David isn't the hull a bit too late for the prototype ?? I have no idea but seems to me some of the features are off.. I'm sure you'll set Dragon straight before the kit comes out .

Yes, Richard, this turret would have existed from Tiger 250100 onwards if it had been used; it would be on the Bovington Tiger.
So, I am suggesting that they use an Early hull rather than a Mid. But they're both equally valid.

I'm liking this specifically for the hull. I could get a few of these, use some aftermarket Early/Mid turrets and I can forego fishing for discontinued and overpriced (in some cases) DML Tiger I kits. But, hey, that's just me.

What will be next? May I dare to hope for a Pz. III or a StuG?

I've got the MR Model turret for this, oh well it may end up being more accurate?

I'm now checking the final box images for this kit. You may be interested to know that the hull is from the same era as the recent Dragon kit #9142, that is, about April 1943. The hull roof plate has been changed to accommodate the different turret. I don't yet know what they've done with the wheels, but I'll keep you posted.

Update; the wheels will be the same "connected" ones from 9142, but Dragon state that they've fixed the problem with the idler wheel.
