As seen here:

what is the mg, and the back pack, please? Is this operational at all? I expect that ammo tin would weight a fair bit... still, makes for a good modelling subject.

Can't help you with ID, but it's from a TV commercial produced by the Navy Recruiting Command for a national advertising campaign.

The camouflage is some variation on the Navy's relatively new NWU uniform. All NWU patterns are similar in style to the Marines MARPAT. Also it has 3 variations: NWU 1 is issued to all personnel. It is made up of dark blue, blue, grey, and dark grey digitized blotches. NWU 2, aka AOR1, is issued to special forces only. You will not see any other member of the Navy wearing this uniform unless they are part of the special forces wing wing of the Navy. It is made up of varying shades of brown and tan. Then there's NWU 3, aka AOR2, is issued to all land based forces. It is made up of varying shades of green, brown and black digitized splotches. From what I know this is not an issued uniform pattern. There is training in artic regions so I would guess this is what it could be.

On the Mk 48 he has mounted a PEQ-15 laser designator and an Elcan SpectreDR. The helmet is an Ops-Core FAST with, what could be, a Wilcox L4 G24 NVG mount but I'm not sure...

Yes, that is the IRONMAN ammunition backpack. I'm not sure how "official" it is...could just be a few prototypes.

thanks guys, for the info. Looks like a crazy set up. Have watched some of the videos linked and was amazed at how well the firer maintained muzzle control given the volume of fire and recoil.
