If I wanted a commander figure for a Saladin armored car in British service(1950's - '60's), what would be a suitable figure, keeping in mind he will only be visible from the waist/chest up? Could a WWll era commander figure, with armored corps beret, be used in a pinch? The BD uniform had only very minor changes post-war that may not be obvious in 1/35 scale.

Hi
The vehicle was issued to armoured regiments and RAC training school in 1959. So the best uniform would be the 1950 pattern combat dress denims. On you tube there the is a Pathe film of the Salidan being put through its paces on a testing ground. The crew where wearing camouflage overalls!!

Good luck

Depends what unit and where. There are lots of photos of Saladins on peacekeeping duties in the Med or the tropics, in which case KD shirts are in order for this time frame so a WW2 commander from the desert will do. On the other extreme, the 1943 "Pixie" suit was still being worn well into the '60s and beyond.

I was thinking 'generic' - maybe parade dress in England, just for display purpose and not in a dio.

If a generic looking is what you are seeking then you should be able to find some figures with some simple internet searches.

If that doesn't work for you...

Ultracast...
