Question is, will they get it from CAD to plastic before I finish upgrading the old Tamiya kit?

That's nice, but we still really need a Chieftain.

Well it looks like another one for the stash a new tool Chieftain. and by Tacom it may be pricey but worth it. Whats the going rate on selling plasma?

In another thread we had it down to a Chieftain based on an image showing only a road wheel and few track links.
Someone in that thread suggested Mk 11

If you read the full story it is a Chieftain as yet we are unsure of what mark or the release date. I am looking forward to seeing this kit out. Although I'd much prefer the AVRE or AVLB, but I'm biased on that one.

Looks like a Centurion chassie.

The centurian does not have a cast glacis - it is rolled plate with a straight edged welded join. This is a late mark Cheiftain with stillbrew

If you can't recognize that as a Chieftain it is no wonder we suffer from so many Blue on Blue/friendly fire losses!

And yes, with the blocks either side of the drivers periscope it has to be a later mark, possibly 9,10, or 11 depending on what they add with the turret..

Finally a new tool Chieftain, kinda surprised Takom are doing the honours, thought AFV Club would have stepped up to the mark. Am not complaining though & will buy & build regardless of what prospective rivet counters & slide rule wallahs will say of it. Well done Takom & thank you!

Frankly I'm a little disappointed they have left the provision of a turret up to the aftermarket.

Is this new armor "ON" the way or is it really "IN" the way??? I've got all kinds of stuff "IN" the way on my workbenches... Yes, that is plural, as in 4 workbenches...

Well, if it's a SATURDAY one, we're IN TROUBLE!!!

Well, "in the way" was part of Chieftain folklore, given the legendary reliability of the multifuel engine. The old joke says Chieftain's role in NATO's plan was to break down at strategic road junctions, blocking Soviet access to the west! So one clogging up your workbench is par for the course...

I'm sure this was just a teaser and the turret choice by Takom is coming. It would be nice to have the parts for choosing your preference of Mk's 9,10 or 11 but whatever they choose no doubt one of the cottage industries will supply whatever you need to complete yours.

AA for instance has converted some of their conversion kits to fit AFV Club items, or perhaps the now 'silent' Castoff models!

I know there will be several Mks released. Plenty of research has gone into this kit but Im sure someone will find something wrong. Lots of scope for aftermarket engine bays given how often the old girl broke down.
