Stephen Armstrong shares with us some images of his latest diorama titled ’A Cautious Look’. Stephen used a Tamiya kit release for the Panther and it shows that Tamiya kits can and do still build into acceptable models.

Stephen, your colors and tones blend wonderfully! The dead leaves on the deck - overlooked so often. It looks like you hand-painted the armor patch on the uniform - nice work. For my money, the trees look very southern Europe. Great work!

Here's a dumb question: Why replace the barrel if you're going to cover it with net anyway?

I can feel a lot of tension in this diorama. Tank crews are cautiouly looking at the abandoned big cat worrying about the booby traps or ambushing. Definitely masterpiece dio.

Joepanzer, the net was a later addition, once the model was complete.

Incredible work, great story told here! If you don't mind me asking, how did you make the netting on the barrel?

Cokiescool2 thanks the net is actually surgical gauze, soaked in pva glue, then when semi dry mold into shape. Just paint when fully dry.

Very nice work indeed. Not sure if the vegetation on the tank might be just a little bit too bright green, but that's a minor quibble really. It all works well and the Panther is excellent.
