I’d like to propose the Egg II (Caricature) Campaign.

With last year’s releases by Fuji, Hasegawa, Meng, Tiger, and others, there is a large variety of caricature kits available. Ships, planes, tanks, a truck are now available. WWII to modern.

There’d certainly be something for those that frequent Aeroscale, Armorama, and Model Shipwrights.

Start date would be left up to the Campaign Manager and I would assume no more than six (6) months long.

This would be my proposed submission (as a Kit Maker Network campaign):

Operational Overview

This campaign is about building a caricature kit; a kit of a vehicle that has been deformed – squished, scrunched, or mushed – by the manufacturer.

You will find the forum thread to this campaign here: (TBD)

The Rules and Regs

1. Must be a caricature kit.
2. Can be land, air, or sea.
3. Any nationality.
4. Any aftermarket items are allowed and encouraged (YES, there is PE, resin, and wood decks out there for some of these!!). These kits are “unscaled” but 1/72 decals work well for the Egg Planes.
5. Cannot be started before campaign start date.
6. Pictures of the unstarted kit’s box top and sprues should be posted as a first campaign posting.
a. This shows us the box art,
b. Shows us the sprues,
c. Shows that it has not been started.
7. At least two (preferably more) in-progress pictures need to be posted during the build.
8. An excellent opportunity to involve a youngster in the hobby!
9. Have FUN! See what’s out there! Serious and not-so-serious modelers need to have a break from rivet-counting every once in a while.

You will find the gallery of finished models here: (TBD)

Contest Element

A special ribbon will be awarded to those that complete the campaign.

Thoughts?

Here are some links to the various caricature kits (These links are strictly to show you what's out there; not to suggest where to get them):

Fujimi ships & vehicles

Meng Kids Planes & a tank

Hasegawa Egg Planes

Eggocentrics

Tiger Model has three aircraft that come/came as gifts in a model purchase. The only place I found any of them is on eBay.
Tiger Model Corsair
Tiger Model Hayate
Tiger Model Bf-109

And AFV Club is now issuing a KV-2 and Pz. IV.

Food for thought.

Mike,

If caricatures are ok, then Fine Molds has a series of figures for choosing, like:

Cool idea! Instead of historical, we'll go for hysterical.

I am in! I will make my kit with the next generation - my son and daughter. They can get a caricature kit each.

Great initiative for a campaign

I have a couple of Tiger-Model's cute planes.. this could be a good incentive for me to build them, so, if the campaign takes off, I'm in

Nice Tat!

Across the sites, I believe we need one more participant for the requisite 10 participants.

I'm in with either a P-40 or Bf-109 from Tiger Models.....

Pacific Coast Models ( http://www.pacmodelscatalog.com ) carry them as well as the Meng line. Although I am sure other places have them also.

Thanks for the link Bob....I don't have all of the Tiger-Model kits yet, but they are on my short list of serious wants!

Looks like 10 now. I'll get the proposal submitted!

Mike,

Is there some way you can take the "Proposal" out of the thread title? Just a thought....
