I share your happiness about not having bought the Miniarm conversion.
I'm not that big fan of their stuff, but this time I was really close to take the decision to buy the whole pack...
Now we should probably need only the PE set for the slat armor, which I foresee a Voyager set too.

My understanding of this is the Rogatka package, specifically the thermal damping "blanket", was too awkward. And expensive. This was also labelled the T-72M2 in some places.

The T-72M3 was developed from this as a cheaper export version, so I have been informed.

what made Rogatka special is not that thermal cover at all..there is a reason why russian call this...slingshot.

B2 Slingshot in fact is some kind of experimental one. more effective than BA or even the B3 they use now..and also the Rogatka system made it special. some of it tech were later used on 90a and even 90ms.
Define it as a paper panzer is a bit off.

there's a great 2 part article on the rogatka program in the Jan. and Feb. issues of Military Modelling. It's basically envisioned as a rebuild program for the T-72 series.
