Dragon comes up with an innovative new 1/35 kit subject, one that has not been covered by a mainstream company in plastic before: the Special Type 4 “Ka-Tsu” as used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN).

On this release, I would say the chances are nil. Putting them on a second release would be typical.

I hope you are correct in this assumption :-)
Getting more from the molds by delaying the more interesting version. Those who can't wait will probably try to scratchbuild the torpedoes or hope for resin upgrades.
When the torpedoe carrier turns up we console ourselves with having both variants ....

After this release I have the raised hopes to see an amphibious IJN Toyota Su-Ki truck one day...

I don't think they announced a Type 97 yet, but their lateest release the "Ke nu" has a Type 97 turret so maybe we will see one soon.

Based on the undiscounted price at my favourite dealer it comes out at 3 Euros per centimetre of finished model

There are less expensive kits, the same money could buy 2 of Broncos M1114 .....
