Yup,particularly disappointing given what they were able to produce with the PMC sets. Everything since then has been very stiff and uninspiring. The African freedom fighters also appear a bit on the oversized side too.

Trumpeter 1/35, not "trumpheter 1/34".The figures or posing at least are certainly not inspiring.

IMO, the PMC set was also plagued by amateur sculpting (moulding?). The posing was dynamic enough to take attention away from the chunky torsos and gorilla arms. It's been a problem since Trumpeter released their German figure sets.

Don't care much for Trumpeter figure sets, they're dull & unimaginative. Funny here how every Iraqi with a moustache looks like Sadam...

Subject matter great, figures stink. Wish they would improve their figures especially the African freedom fighters set.

I agree, the PMC set was a bit disappointing. The sculpting seems a bit oversized on parts of some of their figures. I'm hoping they will continue to improve. I may have to pick up the Iraqi Tank Crew. What I really want to see from Trumpeter is an RPG set, similar to their M4/M16 & German weapons 4 piece sets. RPGs are not as easy to find in 1/35 scale, as one would think.

Their Iraqis seem to be suffering from the same disease as their Mujahadeen/Taliban set in that they are stiff all over and are unable to bend their arms and legs. These look dreadful. Really unimaginative and useless poses. I've never built any Trumpeter figures but with their current sculpting and output I don't see me building any for the forseeable future. When you consider the quality of some manufacturers figures like DML, Masterbox and Miniart I don't know why Trumpeter even bother releasing rubbish like this.

To be honest, I will buy them only if I can get them on the cheap for the weapons. Face it, for the most part the figgies really stink but the weapons are good (and some of the gear is usable, too). I have the Iraqi figures, they came in the Iraqi T62 kit, I doubt they will get used but their AK's will.

I've bought both Trumpeter sets of German artillery troops - a total of about a dozen figures. None of them are usable; huge gaps are the least of the problems. Soft, or non-existent, uniform detail; inconsistent length arms (even on the same figure); extremely poor facial detail...the grievance list is endless!

I've picked up a couple of Trumpy figure sets and have been disappointed with them...they are more like mannequins than attempts to model living peoples.

I would have expected some improvements from the PMC set to more recent sets.

BTW ever notice their German Antiaircraft Gun Crew appear to be Baldwin brothers?

The crappy cover art on their earlier fig sets were an accurate representation of what's inside. You're right, some times only the weapons and gear are useable on those earlier abortions.
