Hi all! I'm your new campaign administrator. I was just knighted this morning!

Feel free to start tossing ideas around for new campaigns to start in 2020. I've got one still listed as pending and am waiting to hear back from the prospective campaign leader to see if he still wishes to pursue it.

Remember, for a campaign to be accepted there have to be a minimum of ten people pledging to participate. The specifications of the particular campaign are up to the leader. So, let's get some ideas out there!

I have few ideas...
1. Staff cars and motorcycles
2. Self propelled and mounted artillery
3. Anti tank campaign
4. Trailer campaign
This is enough to keep me happy for the whole year.

Rubbish. 4 Builds will only keep you busy for a month Bogi!!

Yeah, the way you build, Bogi, a month is being generous!

I was actually thinking about the artillery campaign myself. I've got a bunch of artillery kits in the stash.

Howdy Y'all,
Bogi-You made me laugh today, way to go, but you're being modest. I second your campaign ideas.
Richard-Congrats, I admire you guys. Campaign Administrator is vital to our site.
How about a Victory Day-Europe and a Victory Day-Pacific to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of WW II.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Don! I figure I've mooched enough free information off you guys over the years to where I probably owe it to ya!

I like the Victory Day ideas! Like anything in use by the Allies (only) at the end of the war in their respective theater of operations.

There has been a call for another Anti-aircraft Group Build next year (and Bogi's towed Flak planned for next year would fit ).

Blitz - We bandied about a build for variants of the Opel Blitz truck in a previous group build thread.

Size does matter - any form of vehicle or field piece with a gun greater than 120mm

Munchkins - Light weight armoured vehicles Stuart/Panzer 2 or smaller

Tracked Carriers - Tracked vehicles like Lloyd or Universal carriers, M4 HST, STZ-5, ATP, t20 Komsomolets, etc.

IDF - Could do an open build or a set time period

The world is your 'piece of snot in a shell'....

I kinda had a thought a while back for one called Operation Snow White. It can be anything from any era sporting either a winter camo, Arctic or U.N. white paint job.

Besides Bogi proposals,
I'm thinking of:
Resin III
Artillery 2020,
Truck & Trailer Campaign, like we had in 2017.
Scratch Builders Campaign 2020

Also there is something very special:
John Hagan(Johnnych01) came up with the brilliant idea of a Campaign, that covers vehicle(s) one served on.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/278894&page=1
I would love to join such Campaign.

Not the end of my list, but I've run out of beer, so'll take a short break...

I don't have the time capacity to build for all these great ideas.

I have never served nor my Father. My Maternal Grandfather was a grenadier in the Dutch Army and was shot by Germans in 1940 whilst defending an airfield but lived to tell the tale. My Paternal grandfather was an engineer in England and was in design teams. I do have friends that have served in the Aussie army, so maybe I could plead a case to build one of their rides...

I'll join you in a frothy top - but the coffee kind. It is 6.00 am here....

There is small number of people that participate in campaigns. And the number is further shrinking by the fact that we all have different interests. So, I think we should keep themes as broad as possible.

Yes, Bogi. I totally agree with you. The more you make it sort of a niche thing then the fewer participants you'll have.

I liked you artillery idea the best. You could make it just gun artillery though. No rocket artillery or air defense artillery.

It's not up to me though. I'll set up whichever ones meet the 10 participant minimum. I've got no dog in that hunt.

Some good ideas there. I really like the trailer one.....could be interesting.

I have been thinking of something like this for a while now. A campaign called something like "What Was I thinking"? It would be a campaign to go back and redo a previously built kit, diorama, vignette, etc. and update it. New paint and decals, more details and aftermarket items, scenery change in a diorama, add figures, etc. It would be a simple campaign for someone to go back and redo something that they previously built, but weren't happy with. Just a thought.

Thanks,
Randy

PS. Congrats Richard.

The trailer campaign does sound interesting; but are there enough kits out there of subjects with trailers? I've seen a couple recently; HETs mostly.

Like I said, you guys drum up the interest and I'll set 'em up. I just wanted to start the conversation.

Richard, don't forget ww2 vehicles. There is a lot of models with trailers.

I love "What have I thinking" idea. So cool.

Seen on Track-Link, what about a 'Building the Photo Campaign'

Robert, that's ok, too. It covers everything.
Angel, you will be pretty lonely in scratch build campaign. Of you add to it some kit bashing and conversions, that could be fun. I avoid resin but I can do something for the team.
I just wish to see as much non-mainstream models as possible.

Here's one for ya'
GUTS, with all the kits now out there now you've Allies, Axis, Cold War, WWI, large scale & even aircraft. A golden opportunity to show off the innards of your chosen kit.
I would say a year's time to complete.

Happy weekend !

BTW, congrats Richard on taking on a most important job at Armorama !

No Guts No Glory... Very much to my liking.
More or less show your skills on something you never did before, or want to improve.
Example given; I always had something with masking cockpits. Never did that, nightmares from failure and ruin a build.

Robert. That is piece of cake. I know few different ways how to do that. That kind of campaign could really help us all. You ask a question, few people show how they do it, then you choose which way you want to do it.
I am experimenting all the time. Never read a modelling book or a magazine. But there are few new things I would like to try.

What about Figures campaign? They are important part of our hobby.

@Bogi I know the tricks by now. This was some years ago.
My current weak spot still are Figures and I want to show them, because I need them in my future builds. Know what I mean?

That would be my favorite. I also like the Victory Day ideas.
