I will never understand the "30-40" label. That style of clothing was used well into the 1950s in germany. So even a match with early cold war troops and vehicles is doable.

O, even in the US. I was going to say, the set can still be used up to 1960s.

I can see it: easily adaptable to either side of the Atlantic and anytime between the 1940s to late 50s or so. !960s would possibly be pushing it for the mens' apparel. Useful. Now we need a set of children playing, running etc.

Wait, what? Most of my wardrobe still looks like that. Maybe that's why my kids always roll their eyes and say "Dad!" when ever I go out in public?
