Good day!

I recently ran into some issues with Tamiya’s Chrome Silver (X-11) not mixing well at all. No matter how much a stir/mix it, it always seems to be “separated” and “chunky” and I can never get evenly mixed. I even bought another bottle thinking maybe mine was just messed up, but same results. Any tips/tricks or similar experiences? Do all the Tamiya silver type paints have this issue? Thanks!

I only got once the same issue with a very old bottle which had partly dried.
It never happened again.

Did you try to add some Tamiya thinner?

I did, however it still sprays very odd and not metallic at at out of my airbrush.

Hey Joe! One more option for you. Have you tried mixing your X-11 with the Tamiya Laquer thinner (instead of the Tamiya X-20 acrylic thinner)? My guess is you may find this a help. However, I have found the Tamiya metallic colors to have VERY large pigments, with a tendency to separate.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but I have found the Gunze/Mr. Color acrylic color, H8, silver, to be VERY much better than the Tamiya solver. It is water based, but has much finer pigments, and sprays a lot better.
