Hi, Congratulations there Carl. This I think will be one of the best of this series, simply because of those heavy bolts on the turret. Something about it just looks better than the other vehicles of this series. But that's okay as I intend to get all of them eventually. Or I should say, all of them built, eventually. Ha, ha!

Wonder if I could get a group discount somewhere of 5 sets of the Fruil tracks for all of them. Ha, ha!

Good luck and take care, Sgirty

Well here is where I am as of 7 PM EST,

There was a bit more flash on many of the pieces as compared to earlier releases. It could be that the molds are starting to wear already.
I have noticed a few gaps, which I have filled with some strip styrene.

Larry,I think you will like the other KV 2 with the angle fronted mantlet, due out soon.I have a flamethrower version yet to build, and I will await the next KV-2.

Supper time. (++) (++)

I only do German stuff but I've got six of these so far (ehkranami not in my LHS yet.)
The intention is to do them all as captured vehicles as I do have some colour profiles as well as the corresponding photos so as to make something different out of them all.

Ok ,here is tonight's progress.
I got the webcam fired up around 8 PM EST.I did the hubcap and other details on the roadwheels, and sprockets.I left those in halves,to spray on the sprue.
here is the hull work to this point:

That is how I attach 1/2 of the support rollers. This helps me align the sections of track.
No ,Alan,I'm not finished yet.I had to set up my Christmas tree tonight

Well,another fine night of modeling.
As seen on the webcam,I built the turret and fenders.

A few stowage boxes, and it'll be ready to paint.

Came out really nice Carl. Weathering looks good, and from the last pic, looks like traces of winter white-wash. Markings are interesting.

1st few photos look a tad grainy, maybe a low battery on your camera ? Other then that the KV-1looks awesome.

I like how you did the inprogress shots, showing the assembly, and how you did the bolt-on "Ehkranami" armor. Very cool.

Dont forget, in addition to the early KV-2 (TRP-0311)coming out in January, Trumpeter also has one more KV-1 M1942 (TRP-0360) with a different cast turret coming out as well.

Then we can only hope they go for the KV-1S, KV-85, and an SU-152.

Cheers !!

Mr.Burnside,
The graininess is from photoediting after I had taken the picture.I sharpened it a bit.The worn white wash is actually a very light tan from the thin Hudson and Allen mud I used as a base weathering color. It looks better in person.

Trumpeter just announced a couple of KV Beutepanzers, a 753(r) and a 754(r).

Can a KV-85 and a KV-14 (SU-152) be far behind?

The answer to this is YES. None of the current kits can be easily converted into the - 85 or anything else. New topdeck, new turret, new wheels...Completely new kit in other words...Jim

It would be nice to get a KV-85,molded to the same level as this series.I had the eastern Express. It is a wall model.
(High speed impact on a wall).
