Working on A ICM T-35, which I must saw for the money is a very nice kit. I want to show it abandoned with most on the mg removed. I ahve 2 questions about this.
1) the turrent mg monuted in the balls. Whne the mg were removed did the ball come out with it or were the mg mounted in the ball?
2) The AA mg on the turrent. Does anyone have a picture how these where attached to the supporting arm? I assume it was in some type of cradle but I have not been able to find any pics of this. I would assume this was the same as most Soviet guns used if any one has a pic of one off another tank. Thanks.

The MGs were not part of the ball mount and could be removed, leaving the ball in place.

Can't help you with the AA mount question though.

Thanks for the help. That gets me 1/2 way done. I guess I will assume it is the same as our 50 cal mounts and go from there.

There is a drawing of the AA mount on this page on the T-28.

T-28

IIRC the ICM T-35 has a ball mount on the turret rear which is bogus. The real tank had a internal mount which was covered by a vertical strip of armour when the gun wasn't fitted.

As the other poster said, the main turret rear MG mount was used on the T-28, but was unnecessary on the T-35, as it already had two rearward facing turrets. Only one T-35 has been seen in photos with the rear MG mount (and it was from a late batch with the sloping turret sides).
