Thanks Jim for the news, it seems that Dragon still isnt going to let AFV Club release any 251 variant without going head to head with one of their own, and the 38t version is another interesting looking release, one that has possible more limited appeal so is ideal for the limited run Cyber-Hobby treatment.

WOW, GREAT NEWS!!!! More German stuff!!!!! I can't wait for the nest Tiger Aug X with added widgets to come out next!!!

I have never heard about the 7.5cm Stu.Kan.auf Pz.Kpfw.38(t) before. Was this a production vehicle, field modification, or just a prototype?

Jim, I may have missed it but what kind of tracks does the 251 have? It looks great anyway but just curious after my failed attempt to build some of the earlier ones.

I Don't understand why makers prefer produce an obscur german tank produced maybe in ten exemplary rather than a nice comon allied vehicule.. and don't tell me it will sell more...I understand for a Tiger, not for an obscur version nobody heard of...
Anyway it's like "pisser contre le vent" in French.

Last weekend I picked up Dragon's kit of the 251/C Flamethrower version......not sure of the correct designation number as I am not where I can put my hands on the kit.

The kit is absolutely jaw dropping.

As for the AA gun, it seems to be a clear sign of a will to compete with AFV club in this sctor... who will win?

251/17... Jeeeeezzzz... I hoped that they will let AFV Club to have at least this one for themselves I must say that it is really ridiculous...

But at least it looks like the finally corrected at least some of problems with their 251 series. Sprockets seem to have rollers now and road wheels are also improved. But I'm pretty sure that hull dimensions are still a bit off. Although they included practically entire new upper hull here, so who knows?...

EDIT: Well, I looked more carefully at sprocket pics and compared them to parts in older kit, and it looks that the are the same - still no rollers and teeth are still symmetrically placed. In fact I don't know what they improved in sprockets, as they look identical to old parts to me...

EDIT 2: DOH!!!... I just checked posters for some previous 251 releases on DML website and some of them already included exatly the same bit about "improved sprockets and road whees"... So I guess you can forget about what I wrote above - no problems corrected. Now this is ridiculous!!!

Outcome will be probably the same as always with their 251 kits: if you want accuracy get AFV Club. If you want easier assembly and lots of extras in the box, get Dragon.

Of course there is still hope that I'm wrong and they did correct something and it's just not shown on the poster. They certainly know what should be corrected, as they got the detailed reference information from many sources (including myself in this case, even though I usually don't touch their WW2 German kits - I mean from kit design perspective, as I do build them from time to time ).

The 251/17 is interesting, look forward to seeing how it compares side-by-side with the AFV kit. I wasn't too impressed with the Tristar Flak 38 vs. the DML Flak 38...but the AFV Flak 38 is supposed to offer finer detail so that may tip the balance on that score.

As for the StuK 38(t), that thing looks so bizarre that I'll be very likely to get it. I love the CH approach to providing the odder vehicles and I wondered if they might not use the Pz 38t G chassis as a foundation for some boutique kits. I know zero about it, but it doesn't look like anything that ever went into combat but has an intriguing concept in the marriage of the StuG long 7.5cm with the 38(t) chassis.

I wish CH would do at least one allied model, like a Calliope or something

Are we still waiting on that UHU? Keep releasing the same kit s someone else and not one really cool looking one that no one has done yet. Of course It is likely that I missed the notice of release, but I haven't seen one yet?
