AFV Club have just sent us the (98% complete) images of AF35126 - Stryker ICV. This follows-on from the previous story which showed the kit in a series of initial test shots. The new Photo-Report can be seen:

Thank you so much. This looks fantastic. It was definately worth the wait. I must say this looks way better than the Trumpeter kit. Better detail, accurate and cleaner too. If I'm not mistaken they've add the extra armor too. Way to go AFV Club. Now where is my credit card.

Certainly looks a lot nicer than Trumpeter's. But what to do now? Get this or wait for Dragon's?

I say get it now and see what the Dragon kit looks like than get it too if it looks nicer. If not, you wouldn't have waited too long for this kit

Nice. This kit will definitely make it to my stash. I hope they include the lower hinge for the rear hatch in the production kits.

May I ask what exactly is this hinch you are referring to?

My questions have been answered in the first couple of posts! AFV Club looks like a much better quality kit than what Trumpeter will offer, and I've built quite a few of theirs.

looks great. It is a much newer version of the ICV than the Trumpeter kit. The only things I see, and I am remembering that the kit is 98% complete, is the step ring on the wheels, The newer STRYKERS only have a step ring at the drivers wheel. All others have a strap that covers the CTIS valve. I noticed that the drivers hatch handle is missing, I am sure it just has not been put on. The .50 cal selenoid is missing from the L/S of the .50. The last thing I've noticed is that the EPLR antenna is mounted in the wrong spot from a Factory STRYKER. It could be moved but is usually left where it is. The EPLRS is mounted on the Right Rear of the Hull.

Nothing to add about the kit itself except that the RWS seems to be the main contested area of the Trumpeter kit. It would have been great from AFV to show pics to compare both RWS.

I also would like to thank Jim for the new (to me !) way to view pictures in the News article.
It's very pleasant to have them in a slide show.

Shock absorber guards seem to be the same pre-production version as in Trumpeter kit - small and without perforation....

Its about time they did.

This kit looks awesome. I love the PE rain guards over the RWS lenses and the clear lights everywhere. And the tie down loops everywhere too. Pawel is correct about the strut guards. There is non-slip coating on the real Stryker too, but does not appear to be any on this kit or the Trumpeter one. One last thing that will be tough for anybody to do in plastic are the footman loops (the other tie downs that are held on by the bosses). We will probably have to wait for PE to help on them. They are all over the vehicle.

To add to Ric's point about step rings on the wheels, they were on all wheels up until about a year ago. It appears you will have the choice to leave them off if you want. They seem too thick anyway.

I can't wait to get this kit.

Just to help out with the Step Rings, they actually started the new style on vehicles from the factory about mid 2004. But it would model either the 3rd BDE 2 ID, or the 1st BDE 25th ID (which is now the 2nd CR in Germany). I believe the decals for this model are for 1st BDE.

Good morning all.

My first post here so hopefully it will go OK.
In fairness to Trumpeter, their Stryker is a fun build with no real nasty surprises. OOB it doesn't looktoo bad. However. comments about the RWS are rife and justifiable so I just thought I'd show you my "solution" to the weedy looking trumpeter one. Evergreen tubing and plasticard bases.

I wasn't originally planning to get a Stryker, but Iafter looking at all the pics opnline, I am thinking otherwise I think I will wait until all 3 manufacturers (Dragon, Trump and AFV) have their kits out and reviewed before I make a decision on which one to buy.

It's not like I don't have enough in the stash to keep me busy until then

I second "Hurry Up". Its the middle of May already and still no word. Im not holding my breath for the dragon kit. I got the trumpeter kit and from what I have seen in referance photo's the AFV kit is right on the money and blows trumpeter away in missing details. Now all we need is some aftermarket slat armor.
