Although previously announced here and on other sites, we are now able to bring some good images of the imminent release of AFV Club's Flak 18...
Sadly, this news will inevitably be overshadowed by the news of the DML Flak 36/18 which we ran as a news story last week. However, AFV Club is a company which continues to serve modellers very loyally and as such, their new releases deserve as much attention in news and reviews as anyone else.... As a final point, AFV Club have been responsible for some of the most impressive Artillery kits on the market - their Pak 40 etc. are SUPERB kits. Well worth bearing in mind....

AF35088 - 88mm Flak 18

Slipping into 'editorial mode' for a moment, it is worth pointing out that, in certain respects, it won't be a simple decision for modellers to choose between the two available kits. The new AFV Club kit, will have an extraordinary flexibility for those modelling early-war German subjects (including the Condor Legion of the Spanish Civil War) . The kit as can be seen from the photos, also includes a metal barrel, something which is (fortunately) becoming a standard feature these days.

What WILL be interesting, is when the first comparative reviews are published...

For more images of the sprues, Terry Ashley at P.M.M.S. has published some images. They can be seen HERE
