Back in February of this year, Dragon Models made an interesting announcement on the release of the armored Willys Jeep in 1/35th scale. Now, the company have published photos of the actual model.
6714: 1/4 Ton Armored 4x4 Truck with .50-cal Machine Gun (Smart Kit)

Now, it'll be interesting to see if some of the 'issues' with the previous (CyberHobby) S.A.S. Jeep have been addressed?

mmmm.... it does appear that they fixed the look of the wheel rims, as these look much better than what I saw in the SAS release. cant really see some of the other known issues..like the shape of the trans hump and the body itself. headlights look a little too far forward as well. and who ever they had build that test model should pay attention to the steering wheel alignment. the wheel is turned but the front wheels are not! That steering wheel should ether have a spoke centered at the top, or the bottom (ive seen pictures of it both ways). Id be interested to see one in the flesh and take some notes. Ill with hold full judgement until then! Andy

I'm looking forward to this one, hopefully the price is reasonable.

Thanks, Jim, despite the grumbling, this one looks both interesting and reasonably-accurate.

Are there any REAL pictures of this particular modification to this JEEP? I think it's cool it's in 1/35th and 1/24th. Good article! ~ Jeff

From a first look, there remain significant problems - viz back of the front seats front bumper rear seat should rest against rear panel spare wheel should be angled out at the top axe should hang down below bottom edge of side panel "foot" support for spare wheel only fitted with two-stud spare wheel carrier - not the earlier three stud version supplied in the kit brackets for hood bows above rear wheels missing
