MiniArt has announced even more new offerings and on this occasion it features U.S. Army Airborne Troops and working tracks.
MiniArt has a new figure set in the works featuring two members of the U.S. 101st Airborne Division with three very young German prisoners. Also new from MiniArt is a set of workable tracks for the Russian T70 series of vehicles.

35089 - U.S. 101st Airborne Division (NORMANDY 1944)

Worse yet, the figures depicted are from the 82nd Airborne not the 101st. I like the concept though, can't wait to see a review.

How can you tell? Were there differences in the uniforms worn by the two divisions?

How can you tell? Were there differences in the uniforms worn by the two divisions?[/quote] There were no differences Pat. Only the unit patch. Being a former member of the proud 82nd I always get a little miffed about the fuss over the 101. The 101 was created FROM the 82nd as we were the premier division and had more combat jumps to boot. This is also why we are the only airborne division still active in the Army today, the 101 being an Airmobile Division. J

That's what I thought the only shoulder patch I can see, on the standing para, in the illustration looks like a 101 patch.

The 82nd airborne patch is a red border with blue interior with white AA letters--- while 101st airborne is a black patch with yellow/white (?) eagle head. The patch on the right shoulder is an American flag. If I remember correctly, the flag patch was for easy identification during the early morning opperation of the airdrop; key words being, remember correctly. Very hard to tell what patch on the left shoulder is what. The standing figures patch or part that I can see looks black while the kneeling figures looks red. Might be nice if they include a decal set with both options. A welcome set either way. Nice to see some very young German troops, reflecting the depleted situation of Germany by then. A few sets will end up in my stash for sure. And yes Miniart, PLEASE, some more airborne figure sets in action. Thanks for the info Darren.
