Djiti's production has released two new modern European armoured vehicle crews, one French and one Italian.
These two new sets from Djiti's production goes some way to providing Modern armoured fighting vehicle crews for the two major European countries vehicles. Each set supplies consists of two figures with the Italian crew member looking a little odd until you see it in use.

35047 - Italian tank crew with soldier

I'm definitely going to get the Italian guys for the Puma. As for the French guys, which time period are they good for? Current.. or are they meant for MENG's AMX? Hisham

The suit should be correct for an AMX30 crew but you'd better change the helmet as it is the 80s-90s time frame one. Olivier

I apologize for my ignorance, but aren't both MENG's AMX30 and AUF1 from the '80s and '90s? Hisham

Hisham, the AMX30B was issued in the 70s for the very first vehicles soon followed by the AuF1. Both vehicles went under upgrade programme during the service life. While the AMX30 is not longer used by the French army except as OPFOR tanks in the French NTC, there are still a number of AuF1 in active service. Olivier

What kind of helmet did the French AFV crewmen wear in the 70's?

Thanks for clearing things up, Olivier. So, if I understand you correctly, the AUF1 came some time after the AMX30B.. so, these figures could be used with it as is.. but not with the AMX30? Hisham

The set is correct for a AMX30B crew but in a late timeframe as the helmet was introduced in the mid-80s if my memory serves. At that time, the green camo was starting being replaced by the three-tone one. But the process was done in the units so you still could have some green beasts with crews wearing the new helmet. I'll check this point with a reliable French source. Olivier
