Another variant of the Panzer III is on its way from Dragon, this time with the ability to almost act as a submarine.
Dragon Models has announced another variant of the Panzer III, this time the 5cm Ausf.G Tauchpanzer. The Tauchpanzer was designed to be used in an invasion of Britain, allowing the tank to move along the seafloor using a breathing apparatus. While Operation Sea Lion never happened, Dragon will bring the tank to you with new parts to represent the waterproofing to its Panzer III Ausf.G kit.

6773 – Pz.Kpfw.III (5cm)(T) Ausf.G

According to Dragon Models USA this kit is scheduled for a September 2013 release.

I'm confused. Wasn't this a CyberHobby limited release last year?

This is the one I've been waiting for...it's the most commonly seen Tauch variant, the III Ausf G with the 5.0cm gun. Looking forward to it!

I wonder if Dragon is planning a Nashorn or Hummel as Tauchpanzer That would be cool

That's another Pz.III that I won't buy... I hear DRAGON is going to be doing a "tauch" version of a BMW R-75 mit "Beiwagen" (sidecar). I don't believe this rumor... A definite maybe is a "new" 1/6 version of a pointing SS Officer in greatcoat w/dog...

Some of the comments are really funny. Inspite of the spite I'll be getting one. Love the PZ III's and can't wait to add this one to the stable.
