The latest news coming out of HobbyBoss is an early Russian tank that can go for a swim.
HobbyBoss has announced a new kit due for November 2013, the T-37 amphibious tank. This Soviet light tank was based on the British Vickers and was produced between 1933 and 1936. It has been reported that some of these tanks survived long enough to be used in front line duty right up till 1944.

Wow! Hobby Boss is certainly digging up some interesting old subjects to redo! This one is another cool little item last kitted a long time ago in a land far, far away beyond the dreary old Curtain.... Whatever else one can anticipate, it's got to be better than the old eastern bloc dino kit of this thing I have lurking in my closet! By me, HB has established themselves as being fairly decent kit-makers and they have brought out some mighty cool stuff not recently tackled nor available in modern kits - and sight-unseen I'm going to guess this could be an OK effort. It would be truly fab if it comes out with some interior and a little optional detail stuff (there was a command version with radio antenna, and maybe some variation on the rudder and screw assembly, etc.). While I really like link tracks (and this one always appeared with sag-a-plenty), it might not be too bad if HB puts link and length on this one - if any "tank" was tinier than the famous Pz. 1A, this would surely be it! And I love those, but my eyes are getting dimmer and fingers less agile.. LoL! These dinky amphibians were actually fairly common early in the war, and a fair number of these (T37, T37A, T38 versions) floating tankettes became beutepanzers. So, a builder has some options of Russian, Finnish, and German liveries. Interesting "new" subject and I'll have to get one! Bob
