[ Updated with new photos on May 13, 2014 ]

Some interesting new Diorama bases have been announced by Phoenix Model.

First up, is a modern highway bridge in 1/35th scale. Only CAD test shots are available at the moment unfortunately, but the item should be available this month.

Next, perhaps more suited to the aviation modeller, is an Airfield base available in two different scales, 1/72 and 1/35th both on sale in May.

Item codes:

HQ35012 - "The Modern Highway Bridge" 1/35
48005 - “Airfield cement ground section” 1/48
72002 - “Airfield cement ground section” 1/72

Armorama would like to thank Phoenix Model for the update.

Are the parts vacum-formed and need to get off the frame or already cut off the main frame plastic board?
MAY 13, 2014 - 05:43 AM
Vacu-forms. You need to cut them off the sheet yourself.

I can deal with cutting out the large parts.. as I've built a couple of Miniart's kits before.. but those light poles and sign poles might be difficult to get them right... crazy amount of filling and sanding will be needed on them Hisham

Saw a review of their highway bridge on Youtube earlier this year. Broke down and bought it for $61 including shipping from a company in Hong Kong. Checked Phoenix's web site and they don't have a U.S. distributor. Took 6 weeks for me to get it though seller said it would be 7-11 days as it was being shipped by airmail.

Screwed up and hit enter before I was done. This kit is MASSIVE and being vaccuformed, there will be a lot of work in putting it together. But I'm looking at it from a different perspective....make a silicone mold of the pieces then cast plaster of paris copies of them. My question is has anyone built it yet?
