A new announcement from Dragon Models has the Porsche prototype Tiger on the way.
Dragon Models has announced a Pz.Kpfw.VI(P). This is the Porsche produced Tiger tank, that was also known as the VK4501(P). Five of this variant were produced and issued for training, but only one saw combat with sPzAbt.653 as a command tank. This looks to be a great variant of the Tiger to have and build.

6797 – Panzerkampfwagen VI(P) w/Zimmerit

According to Dragon Models USA this new kit should be available in August 2014.

I built the Dragon Tiger P kit number 6210 awhile back and addedmy own homemade Zimm. Is this kit suppose to be the same 003 Tank that saw combat or does this one have a different turret? If it different I want it if it's the same tank I'll pass

It is very clearly the same tank, the only one known to see service. David

Will pass this as I've done with many other Dragon Kits in the past few years. There are definitely too many real new and unique kits appearing on the market to make me buying the same [auto-censored] again and again...

I mean it will be nice to have the zimmerit already applied for future buyers but it's certainly not a buy for people with the Premium kit. To be fair, there would be an awful lot that would have to be new tooling for an earlier version but it would be nice to have one.

F**king hell. An year ago i was so much after this vehicle, took me two months to track it down and i only found the old [auto-censored]ty italeri kit (which is really bad) and paid nasty money for it.

Probably the straight VK4501 prototype series, as they've already done the up armoured Tiger (p). The prototype will differ by having toothed Ferdinand style track, narrow or partial fenders, and a turret similar to the 1994 Italeri offering, no zimmerit and a few other things. I have one of these in progress as a kit bash, so I might not get one if it's the same one I'm building, but I'm glad it's coming out anyway.

I'd be happy if that is the case but the description clearly mentions zimmerit and that effectively rules out the versions you're discussing. I would be thrilled if they had sent out an eroneous description and it wasn't an in service 1944 version.

HI, ALL! Thanks for the "heads up", but it seems that many modellers are a little bit under-whelmed with this "NEW!!!" DRAGON re-release of an older kit with a few "new" tweaks. I bought 2 of the "Premium" kits when they first came out. I built one in "PANZER GRAY" without the zimmerit, and one "fantasy tank" with a scratch-built "improved" slanted armor Upper Hull and Turret. I'll pass on this "new" kit- WHY CAN'T DRAGON USE A LITTLE BIT OF IMAGINATION and come out with an entirely new "error-less" kit that's never been done before..? I DO NOT COUNT THE NEW BLACK PLAGUE kits in this simple question because they are not "error-less"...

Move along please .... nothing really "new" to see here
