The tufts look very similar to that made by Noch, Silflor, etc., except that Silflor's are slightly longer. Tufts can be easily made with a blob of while glue, or carpenter's glue, with a pinch of static grass (or whatever you like to use) stuck into it. As for the chains, it would be useful if Add On Parts had stated the number of links/inch. Any "scale" chain is useful in any other scale, ie., 1/72, or HO scale chain being used for retaining chains in 1/35, etc.

I might just order an assortment of the tufts. I was curious to how many were included per package, so I shot 'Add On Parts' an e-mail and got a very quick reply. "There are more or less 85 tufts in a set." —mike

Products look good. One comment though, to express the size of chain as a scale value is meaningless and totally useless. To tell me simply a scale I could still be getting a small chain for connecting a padlock to a vehicle toolbox or a chain that would be correct for the anchor of the Queen Mary. Chain size needs to be represented as either round or oval links and as a stated links per inch/centimeter to be of any use to the modeler.

The web site shows measurements of 0.4 x 1.7 x 2.0 (I am assuming mm) and the overall length is 500 mm. Now looking at the pic at the web site we can say the 0.4 mm us diameter of wire to make the link, in the pic, the link looks thinner in over all diameter than the link does in length. so I come up with 1.7 mm is the diameter of the link and the 2.0 mm is the length of the link. Now if wire diameter is 0.4 mm, and the links over lap at each end of a link, then (2*0.4)-2.0 = 1.2 mm for each link. now 500 mm/1.2=416.667 Total links, Now 500 mm = 19.87" so 416.667/19.87=20.96 links per inch. to justify the answer 20.96 * 1.2 mm = 25.16 mm= 1.0" approximately. so it is safe to say approximately 20.5 links per inch and the links are slightly oval. I hope this helps. have a good one

Easier for the company just to state how many links/inch.
