Dan Taylor Modelworks are bringing more braille scale conversion kits to the upcoming show season. Dan follows last month’s US Half Track conversion set with a sprocket and idler set for the same vehicle. There’s also a resin and brass set to tropicalize the Vickers Light MkVI, as well as news of an upcoming brass set of Deep Wading Shields for a Universal Carrier.
Dan Taylor Modelworks have announced two new conversion sets for small scale WW2 Allied fighting vehicles are available this month, and are trailing a set of deep wading shields as an improvement on their existing resin offering.

C-76107 Half Track Drive and Idler Wheels
The ubiquitous American Half-track was a common feature of battlefields in the latter half of the Second World War. With numerous manufactures, a large number of sub-types were produced - M2, M3, M5, M9 Personnel Carriers, to name but a few. There were also gun carriages, anti-aircraft versions plus a number of support vehicles based on the chassis. They all used common parts for their running gear and the most eye-catching elements, the open fretwork of the drive and idler wheels, are impossible to recreate in plastic. Therefore, this set tackles the problem in resin and etched brass.

Using a simple method of assembly, illustrated with clear instructions, the set builds both pairs of wheels in extraordinary detail. The parts then replace those on the kit. Though created for the 1/76 scale Airfix kit, this set is easily adapted to the 1/72 scale Academy and Italeri Half-track kits.

C-76109 Vickers Light MkVI Conversion Set
Conversion Set for the 1/72 S-Model & Ace kits. Despite being offered in desert colours, the S-Model kit of the Vickers Light Mk VI lacks the features added for active service in North Africa. In a mixture of etched brass and resin we provide the parts to rectify the omission. As a bonus you get parts to open the turret and driver hatches and rivet detail for the turret.

C-76110 Carrier Deep Wading Shields Set
Although we already provide a full kit of a Deep Wading Carrier, the resin walls are not ideal. So, as an alternative, we have created a mini-fret of brass which fits the Milicast Carrier (set BB024) and the Airfix Universal Carrier. The set consists of a wrap-around single brass shield, a separate drivers shield, and eighteen angled attachment rods.

Armorama would like to thank Dan Taylor for the update.
