135

We haven' had much info on Assault Models lately. The company just released their 5th figure in 1/35 scale, again a modern soldier from the Middle East.
AM35005 - Paratrooper of 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Afghanistan 2012

The figure is sculpted in 1/35 scale by Dmitry Shevtsov. Boxart was done by Pavel Ilyin, owner of the Assault Models. The figure is cast in resin.

Since Assault Models always designs their figures in pairs, I'm sure we'll have new info in this theme soon. In the meantime, check Assault Models website for their entire figure portfolio:

Tell me about those knee pads? What is that?

Stuart, I think those are Arc'teryx LEAF Military Knee Caps. link Mario

Looking at that pose, I was struck by a mental image of taking the figure's leg off where the knee pad pulls in the pants, and finding a female dancer figure with a bare leg and high heels to replace it, just for the sheer incongruity of it. There are times when I think my imagination shouldn't be let out to run around by itself; it goes off into strange places sometimes.

I think the helmet cut is too low as with MICH, one can see half of the ears. This helmet looks like the older PAGST. LINK Other than that, the figure looks great!

Thank you for the info. Interesting stuff

The pose of the figure is a bit strange but the model of gnee pads is interesting. What do you think about the size of the rifle ? It looks a bit small for me.
SEP 16, 2015 - 10:33 PM
It does look small, but then it's only artwork. Or maybe he's jut a big dude... I reserve judgment until we actually see shots of the real thing. Hey, I wonder if, as a "US Para from Afghanistan" I could review it?

There's a 360-degree view of the bare resin figure, built up, on Assault Models. LINK

Why not ? I would be happy to read it.
