Vallejo is presenting a new range of water-based weathering effects like you’ve never seen before. Stay tuned! The products will be introduced at the 2016 Nürnberg Messe.
The range includes:
Six references of textured thick mud, for real mud effects on models and dioramas.
Six references with several shades of light mud for splash effects.
Six references for dirt over engines, vehicles or dioramas.
Ten references for environment effects for natural and textured surfaces: rust, wet effects, snow and even crushed grass for vehicles!

See them all in Núrnberg or at your local dealer in January.!!

Excited by this news. I still use solvent-based paints when needed but greatly prefer water-based for health reasons. I look forward to seeing how well these work.

Aside from the obvious AFV application, this might be very useful for any of the new Bandai Star Wars (or mecha) kits, as their plastic is notoriously brittle and prone to cracking under enamel or oil-based washes (ask me how I know....). Great news!

Wondering if it is similar to the weathering paste (mud, grass, snow) from Tamiya years back

Will be interesting to see how these stack up against the True Earth product line which I have been using with great results for a couple of years now.
