Available for pre-order during May, this kit is back as a limited edition and can be purchased in two versions, with and without interior.
The Alvis Saladin 6x6 Armoured Car (FV601) saw extensive service over several decades in all theatres of operation with the British Army. Saladin was armed with a 76mm gun and two Browning 0.30” Machine guns, and powered by a 5765cc Rolls-Royce B80 Engine. It was a UK export success being sold to over 20 countries.

It is true to say that this was one of the best designed armoured cars of the post war era, often affectionately known as a ‘Sally’ or ‘Sally-Can’, and is still today an impressive vehicle when seen on a veteran rally circuit.

This is a limited run product and only available for the month of May 2016, and only available by direct mail order from their website.

This 1/35th scale Resin kit by Jon Bottomley depicts the standard Mk-2 production version. Researched over a 2-year period and following the full expert restoration of a real vehicle, this model features full suspension, accurate tyres with subtle bulging, opening hatches, full external stowage, and all the subtle welding details accurately depicted.

An extensive etched brass detail set including rear mesh grill, optional gun barrels, coloured transparent light castings (with early/late variations) and full colour decals are also included.

There is also a kit with the interior, an accurate and complete full interior for the Fighting compartment, with drivers position and extensive ammunition stowage. The engine bay is fully detailed with panels and a B80 engine accessed through the six opening and interlocking deck hatches. The turret and turret turntable are fully detailed with gun mounting and controls, optical instruments, seating and extensive ammunition stowage and some spent cases.

Sorry guys, I was not aware it has been already released... and from what I read on their announcement there was no clue in that sense! But at least it's available again for those who could not get it

K131 Saladin, full kit (no interior version), ordered the 30th of April, that comes to 57 pounds total and that total included shipping. Was waiting for this kit after all the reviews about the Dragon kit kinda led me to Accurate Armor's door.

Careful how you paint it, I entered my Saladin in the AMPS show a couple of weeks ago and got told my wheels were too clean and the tires (tyres) looked like they were new? Yes honestly, go figure, the beast was barely weathered, it was supposed to look clean, amazing eh. I look forward to reading your build. Keith

Mine showed up this past Saturday...damn fine molding in usual AA quality. Should build up to a great looking piece. All I need to do now is model it in the markings of that odd-ball country that used it.
