Their standard paints are not lacquer based. Their spray cans are.

My recently finished model of a T-34 was painted with Tamiya acrylics which had been thinned with Tamiya's Lacquer thinner.

Not the same thing.

If you decant some Tamiya spray acrylic cans and thin it with Tamiya acrylic thinner it messes up the paint.

I'm hoping these are the equivalent of Gunze Mr. Color lacquer paints, which are excellent. Mr. Color provides a nice smooth finish, which is easy to AB when properly mixed with their leveling thinners, and goes a long way for a single bottle because it's a concentrated pigment. Mr. Color is almost impossible to find in the US anymore. I hope Tamiya fills this gap with this new line. I've used the Tamiya spray lacquers before, and they behave very similar to Mr. Color paints-- let's hope! VR, Russ

What's wrong with the bottles? They are just bottles

What's wrong with the bottles? They are just bottles[/quote] They're like the old GW bottles, in that the build up of paint break the screw mechanism after half a dozen uses.

That's a really lame excuse not to like the paint. Being sloppy is on you, not Tamiya.
