At the beginning of December, Pat McGrath first posted the advance news of DML's Future U.S. Infantry release. Now, the company have sent us images of this interesting new set.
DRA 6377 - U.S. Army, 10th Mountain Division, Italy 1945 (GEN2) will be a four.figure, 1/35th scale set.

Perhaps it could be seen as a little too 'unit-specific' in some quarters, but the reality is that it really is an unusual and very innovative subject. In this photo-report, we present a series of detail images of the figures and equipment.

As always, our thanks to Dragon Models Ltd. for the images.

Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS from me Reasons are: 1. It's NOT German 2. It's Allied, Okay US but anything Green is good at this stage! 3. Multiple uses 10th MD and as Jim has stated Korea As a question though, would some of the uniform have made its way to the Ardennes? Possibilities here are endless

I don't think this set would work for Korea. The overcoats they wore then were different than the anoraks these fellows are wearing. As far as I know, this uniform would be specific to the Italian campaign and specifically the mountainous regions. They will work for 1st SSF or 10th Mountain, but nothing else, unless I'm mistaken. It's interesting to note that the kneeling fellow is wearing the ski-boots with the associated leggings. Never done before in miniature that I know.

Reading the thread, my only gripe was going to be that Ron's artwork was yet again going to be way superior to the actual figure poses... But in this case I was pleasantly surprised! They do have most of the posing of his boxart, and this will definitely make its way into my collection, Gen2 and all... The shoepacs also will get some use in my collection. As for how specific they are, maybe it'll make some people do research to a part of the war not too often visited, as there was a war down there and not just NWE... The diorama possibilities although limited add a huge opportunity for some great groundwork and presentation... Brad

Ghurkas? -as John Wayne says in The Searchers. 'That'll Be the Day!'

Ghurkas? -as John Wayne says in The Searchers. 'That'll Be the Day!' [/quote] Funny how the first figures I had as a little tacker were the Airfix 1/32 series which featured plenty of ghurkas! Of course I used them as Aussies, save for the wielded khukri

I think this is a great new set of figures and I hope Dragon will release more of these subjects in the future, like British Royal Marine Commando's or perhaps less known Allied forces like the Marrocan, Algerian and Tunesian soldiers of the French exp. forces in Italy.

I have just seen the Osprey book of the FSSF and I think that this set will suit for them also, so I welcome this development from DML. Please listen to the cries for the other, before mentioned units (ghurkas, ANZAC troops, etc.) too!

I like this one! Pose and proportion wise they are pretty decent. Plus the gear that comes with it looks fantastic! I just hope the guy with BAR doesnt shoot himself in the face accidentally
