Trumpeter's U.S. importers, Stevens International, have just sent us details of the company's releases for December 2008.
Beginning with the most spectacular (in every sense), this is a model we've featured in several reports and was seen in its pre-production form at Nuremberg:

906 - Sdkfz 182 King Tiger Tank with Henschel Turret (1/16th scale)

Features listed include:

1285 parts on 43 sprues, plus hull, turret, and individual workable track links. Additional features: extra hull and turret walls molded in clear for full interior detail viewing, four interior compartments in great detail, full engine and transmission, flexible runner cooling ducts. Hatches can be assembled open or closed, turned aluminum 88mm gun barrel, ammunition, metal towing cable, cast metal suspension details. Photo etched exhaust details, grills, and more (4 sheets). Markings for PZ VIb 1st Co. Hungary, Jan-Feb 1945. Completed kit measures nearly 20"long.

Price is listed at $599.95.

From the spectacular to the more 'mundane'. Three new 1/72nd scale releases:

7263 - French Char B1 Heavy Tank

7281 - Russian T54B Medium Tank

7282 - Russian T55 M1958 Medium Tank

Images as we get them! Meanwhile, our thanks to Stevens International for the information.

600 balloons is a little rich for my blood. But then I don't really have an interest in King Tigers' in any scale.

A quote off of PMMS from the link provided by Tim above: That just plain blows! I hope this doesn't become common practice for Trumpeter, there's enough of the limited edition stuff going on with Cyberhobby. Mike

Limited edition limited to the number of pre-orders...hmmmm. While Trumpeter is certainly free to market (and produce) as they choose, I can imagine that somewhere down the line, one of those KTs will show up on eBay for big bucks. Sadly, no further news on Trumpy's 1:35 T-62s. -YL

Will 4500 sales, pay back for the outlay regarding research, tooling, marketing, and everything else that goes along with it? Will the tools be destroyed afterwards as this statement is true? I hate these sort of marketing campaigns geared to create hype and buzz. IŽll just buy a dragon 1/35 and AM interior, save $500 and be just as happy!

makes me glad that I only do 35th scale tanks now. I too lament that Trumpeter still has yet to release the T-62 that was projected a few years back.

Hi Guys and Gals, This looks like it will be a very nice kit. i , however can't really see paying this much , perhaps when it gets out there and the real buying customers will not allow a $600.00 kit to be purchased. $175 US or even $185 US would seem reasonable, but honestly ? We'll have to see. The only kit that I would be willing to purchase at that price, and with hesitation mind you, would be a 1/72scale Fletcher Destroyer. Now that would be a purchase! Are you listening Trumpeter??!!!

Er, back to the topic at hand, anyone know when Trumpeter might announce their future 1/35th offerings? I'm curious if they'll extend the Sd.Kfz. 7 line to the FLAK versions....
