I wonder...would the Germans have actually placed it so close to an obstacle like the lampost that it would foul the gun barrel and restrict the field of fire capable from the Ostwallturm

No they probably would not, but I placed the lamp post that close to the street by mistake and it goes a little further back and will not restrict the movement of the gun. The field of fire on that side of the lamp post does not matter as the rubble indicates that a building is behind it so there is no field of fire. The fields of fire would be to the far left, 12 Oclock, 3 Oclock, and far right. Thanks for the comments, good obsersavation. Hope you like it. Cheers, Jose.T.Rodriguez Tiger Werke

Hi So is the base moulded in one or is the rubble, bricks etc loose for the modeller to position and fix down?
APR 08, 2009 - 11:30 AM
The base has all the detail moulded into it. I took a poll of modelers and their overwhelming suggestions was for me to mold everything into the base so that the modeler does not have to do a lot of work. Cheers, Jose

this looks like a nice kit... but i'm getting a feelin of deja vu about it. hasn't another manufacturer done something similar? Ant

Hi Ant Yes MIG productions did something similar but I understand it didn't have detailed interior (I think) and base area was smaller. Don't know if it's still available. Alan

Yes Padwan you are right on. The old Kirin models did one similar to this around 17 years ago. I based my master/creation on that kit/version. This base and the Kirin one are based on a famous photo taken in Berlin after the battle for that city. The problems with the old Kirin kit were were/are as follows. 1-Solid, out of scale, non detailed resin turret, wrong back turret plate, wrong placement of the self defence weapon, wrong turret angles, no detail on turret hatch, solid, non detailed rear hatch, and out of scale gun. Their turret did not feature any interior detail at all, as it was a solid piece of resin. 2-Base was smaller than mine. 3-The brick placement on the Kirin version was also wrong according to the photo. Hope this explains things. Thanks for the compliments. Tiger Werke

that's the one Alan. and thank you Jose for enlightening me on the defects of the other kit, i was wondering could we have more images of your Panther Ostwallturm, specifically shots of the lovely interior i can just about make it out in the original image but would love to see more. Cheers Ant

Sure you may have more shots. I need to get it finished first. I did not finish painting the interior due to time and tons of regular job work. Stay tuned. PS. How do I post a photo here? Jose
