Firefly Books "Onslaught" and plans for 2010

By PAT MCGRATH

Dennis Oliver of Firefly Books has been in touch to let us know about their impending releases and plans for 2010.

The latest book –Onslaught: The German Invasion of Soviet Russia – has been printed and is ready for distribution.

The next release will be To The Last Bullet: Germany’s War On 3 Fronts. This will be a three part series depicting German armour during the last year of the war with individual volumes dealing with the Eastern Front, the Western Front and the war in Italy. All books will feature 25 pages of full colour illustrations with text and black and white archive photos. Although heavy on colour the price will be the same as Firefly Books previous volumes. As they did with Panzers In The Bocage, Bison Decals will be producing sets of water-slide transfers as a cross promotional exercise. As with Panzers In The Bocage these books will have a limited print run of 1,000 copies.

For 2010 Firefly Books have some really exciting projects on the drawing board including at least two books by a well known authority on the British army and legendary modeller.

Firefly Books are also negotiating with a highly respected Czech historian and author and Dennis promises to give us more details on that in the next few weeks. Also Karl Berne will be following up Onslaught with a similar book on the French campaign of 1940, Claude Gillono will be back and more.

Sounds exciting so put some of your Christmas money aside and watch this space.

I have the previous books from this publisher,so am looking forward to these releases. I don't think I'm alone in loving late war German stuff,so they should be a nice addition to my bookshelves.
