Dragon are continuing to get value from the moulds for the RSO (Raupenschlepper Ost). First it was a RSO mounting a Pak 40 75mm anti-tank gun, now DML have announced the impending release of a RSO towing a Pak 38 5cm anti-tank gun.
The kit is shown as one of the "Smart Kit" series, and the box art, which looks suspiciously like the great work of the esteemed Mr Ron Volstad, shows the RSO in motion along a muddy road somewhere in Europe, with a nervous driver watching the sky over his shoulder.

Included in the kit is a fully detailed engine (well, we'll probably have to add some wiring and pipework), and a run of winterketten tracks for each side of the load bed.

The Pak 38 is undoubtedly DML's previous release, which was, from my recollections, not to be sneezed at, so when it's all said, this should be a good value kit with almost endless diorama possibilities.

Yes, I know, it's another German kit (some of us actually like making German kits, though), and I suspect we will be seeing a few more mix and match kits using the RSO and other already released kits such as 2cm and 3.7cm AA guns.

I love the RSO (and this kit looks great), just not totally in love with Indy links. I have both of the Italeri kits. - Jeff

Nice to see Dragon pushing the boudaries yet again.............. I can imagine the meeting - "Right lads, what shall we do ?" "err............................." "We could put a Pak 38 on the back of an RSO" "Yep, that will do,......anyone for coffee ?"

Oh I can hardly wait until Dragon puts out an RSO/01, aka stamped steel cab version, to replace the 'nice' Italeri#227. I would be the first for one of those... such a neat looking truck! Heck, I'll probably get one of these anyways.
