Pro Art Models have not been idle since the last update we ran on Armorama in September, This time they have two new products hitting the market and from what I can see they are producing some very promising products. Take a look inside and see what Pro Art Models have done with trumpeter’s LMTV kit in 1/35th scale.
Pro Art have really gone to town on this Trumpeter LMTV kit with a major resin and photo etched upgrade.
PAU-35043 - conversion detail set for M1078 LMTV special forces WAR PIG - € 55
It should be noted that the Radio's & equipment not included in these set.

Next Pro Art Models have produced PSP planking (Pierced steel planking), and something unusual is that they have also supplied resin moulding blocks to shape the PSP planking correctly.
PAU-35044 - PSP planking - € 16

I really like this version of the FMTV, but to do it "right" its going to be VERY Expensive! Base Conversion: 55 Euros 50 Cal with mount: 19.40 Euros Hard Cases: 21.60 Euros Not to mention the cost of the Trumpeter kit (which is still sky high considering its not very well done) and replacement Tires...your looking at well over 100 Euros to build this model...or in Yankee dollars, $132 bucks without the kit or replacement resin tires!

Yes, one issue in making modern Special Operations Vehicles, or Fast Attack Vehicles is that it's pretty darn expensive, especially considering the plastic market doesn't offer them. Add in the weapons, gear, and figures and such a project is nearly worth the price of a really good grail kit.

But you can spend that much on resin, pe, turned barrels, and metal tracks on just about any model these days, looking at the kit if it is something you want I didn't think it was that bad.

I think you might need to add the comms gear to that list as well. Looking at the instructions for this conversion on the pro art website they seem to suggest one needs to source the radios from other pro art sets (i think some clarity on this is needed though!) I cant for the life of me work out either why the Trumpeter kit is so expensive. If we go on contents and the size of the finished model then theres no more in this kit than say one of their Stryker kits, yet a difference in price (at least in the UK) of about £20/£25

Rob Pro Art do clearly stat that the radios were not included and I made a point of including that information in the news report.

So you guys have the same problem? Cheapest I've seen it was on HLJ for $32 bucks a couple months ago (close out special) and the cheapest I can find it for is about $50 bucks. I don't get why they charge so much for the kit...with all of its issues, its not worth $70 retail . They have a HIMARS and an armored cab version coming out sometime in the future, I hope they price it accordingly.
