IntroductionPlastic Crates B
, set 35041
, is the second set of 1/35 modern plastic crates by Matho Models. Matho Models
has been coming on strong with useful and interesting models for dioramas, such as Plastic Crates
From college kid furniture to grocery shopping housewives to remote missionaries to soldiers using them to contain extra gear, plastic crates have been ubiquitous around the world for decades. Matho Models
has noticed that 1/35 scale could use some crates and has produced them.
These crates are made via 3D printing...
...printed in very high detail UV cured acrylic plastic.
They are very crisply printed with open grid bottoms and sides. There is minimal flash but no other casting/molding/printing flaws. Some of the side slots are so small that they have excess material in them. However, I did not notice this until inspecting them via greatly enlarged photos.
Two crates are packaged in a clear baggie. The baggie is stapled to a card. Simple packaging.
These one-piece items are simple so there are no instructions nor a painting guide. Matho Models
provides detailed tips and techniques about preparing their models on their web site.
Plastic crates are everywhere. Modelers of the modern era can hardly make a realistic diorama or vignette without a couple of plastic crates present.
There are no meaningful lows to these models. These are high-quality accessories and I highly recommend them.
