introduction

Inspired by real-time war photos, BRAVO-6 keeps adding unique pieces to Vietnam War U.S. figures. Latest release B6-35099 Black Power depicts two African-American soldiers served in Nam.
packing & casting

Kit content is served in standard company cardboard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figures. Each figure body and small parts like arms, personal gear, weapons and ammo links are individually inserted into transparent zip-lock bags.

Parts are represented on easy to remove casting blocks. Resin quality is good, casting is clean, details are crisp. No air bubble or casting mistakes on review samples, just a few visible seamlines to clean especially on the arms.
parts

As always, figures are sculpted by Vladimir Demchenko, also boxart painter, and cast in grey resin.

FIGURE - A

He represents a tall machine gunner standing with an M-60 balanced on his neck. Figure comes in 12 parts including M-60 parts.

  • Body with head : Facial details are well defined for an Afro-American soldier with high cheek bones and large lips. Short curly hair is also well defined so the figure can be displayed with or without helmet. A neck-chain with a round symbol is cast on his neck. He wears standard army uniform of tropical jungle jacket with two chest and two lower bellows pockets - all with flap covers, jungle trousers with two rear and two bellows cargo pockets on both sides and canvas-leather combined Vibram jungle boots, worn with half-tied laces on this figure. Trotters are inserted into the boots. He has a Pistol belt on his waist. Cloth folds and details of the uniform are well defined.

  • Arms are sculpted with half cut-off sleeves showing his strong muscles. Right arm is posed to grab the muzzle of machine gun and left arm to put his hand on the stock.

  • M1911A1 in leather holster

  • 1 Qt canteen in canvas cover

  • M-16 ammo pouch

  • M1 Helmet with Mitchell pattern camo canvas cover, attached cigarette pack, Zippo lighter, Chapstick - lipstick for sun burnt and insect repellant also called as Bugjuice to the helmet band

  • M60 machine gun

  • Bipod legs – 2 pieces

  • M60 Ammo link - 2 pieces.

    FIGURE - B

He represents a short infantry soldier standing with his rifle and comes in 4 parts.

  • Body with head : Facial details and afro hair are well defined. He carries a necklace with a cross and two neck-chains. He wears a towel shirt, self made from US Army towel sewn in poncho style, combat trousers and boots.

  • Right arm is posed to raise his fist and left arm is posed to carry the rifle. He has a wristband on the right and a wristwatch on the left.

  • M16A1 rifle . It shows crisp details and left hand is cast on forestock of the rifle.

    conclusion

Two more interesting posed figures for Vietnam War scenes. As always, sculpt is sharp and detailed, cast is clean and without mistakes. They can be displayed alone or combined with some other at rest posed BRAVO-6 kits.
  • SUMMARY
Highs: Nice poses, nice sculpt in crisp details, high quality cast w/o mistakes. Towel shirt is really neat.
Lows: A few seamlines to clean.
Verdict: A nice posed M60 gunner and an infantry with an unusual clothing.
