Introduction
Historic Tanks Wall Calendar 2018 from Workman Publishing is large calendar featuring art and data from Osprey Publishing. This calendar is part of their Page-A-Day® Calendars series.

Workman Publishing describes this calendar as such:
Each month, Historic Tanks Calendar features a momentous machine from the critical years of 1939 to 1950, World War II through the start of the Cold War. From the Soviet Union’s T-34/76, with its 76.2 mm high-velocity gun, to the German Panther, renowned for its intimidating firepower and durable armor. From the British Cromwell, famous for its high-speed Rolls-Royce Meteor engine, to the American M26 Pershing, a heavy tank with a 90 mm gun that saw battle in both World War II and the Korean War. Detailed callouts and annotations explore the mechanics of each tank while also providing historical context, dimensions, and design specifications. With full-color art from the noted military experts at Osprey Publishing, it’s a terrific-looking calendar for historians, World of Tanks enthusiasts, and collectors of combat relics.

Let's see what awaits us in 2018.

Content
Each month features a tank.
    M4 Sherman, January
    Tiger I, February
    T-34/76, March
    Matilda II, April
    M3 Stuart, May
    IS-2, June
    Panzer III, July
    Type 95, August
    Cromwell, September
    M 14/41, October
    M26 Pershing, November
    Panther, December

Not only are there the 12 months for 2018, this calendar also includes a bonus 4-month grid calendar from September - December, 2017.

Each month lists major holidays from around the world. A historical narrative presents the history of each tank.

Detail and Artwork
each month's tank is represented by a 4-view of the tank with a human silhouette for size comparison, as well as dimensions in feet and meters. Table of technical data supports each 4-view.

The main image is a full-color cutaway of the AFV. These cutaways are keyed to dozens of components and equipment items. Those items are color coded for: structure; mobility; armament; instruments, communications, electrical. The background for each illustration is black. That accentuates some vehicles such as dunkelgelb German armor and light green Soviet tanks, but the darker olive American AFVs tend to fade into the dark background.

Each of the illustrations are very well done. The historic and technical text is also pleasing.

Conclusion
Historic Tanks Wall Calendar 2018 from Workman Publishing is a high-quality calender. With excellent illustrations and good historic and technical text, it should give modelers and armor enthusiasts something to look forward to every day.

Aside from the black background muting the olive drab American tanks, I have no complaint about this calendar. I enjoy it on my wall and hope there will be another one in 2019. Recommended.
