Introduction

POW figures bring a realism to dioramas but seriously there is a lack of such figures especially for modern wars. I remember a few Taliban POWs on 1/35 scale but far to fill the gap. Based on the original idea of Imad Bouantoun, Paracel miniatures released another useful set for Mideast Wars dioramas depicting Prisoners of War.

BMW-3507 POW includes three 1/35 scale resin cast figures which are also available seperately as MW3535, 36 and 37 single figure kits.
Review

Kit comes in a big square cardboard box labeled with a photo of figures painted by Mai Chi Thuan. Inside the box, all are inserted into a transparent zip-lock bag. Figures are sculpted in one-piece by Giang Xuan Le aka Janleo. They are represented with easy to remove blocks on their feet. Casting quality is quite good with no air bubbles, defects or serious mistakes on review samples, but there are vertical seamlines to clean.

FIGURE-1 : MW3535

Figure is posed standing with hands tied on back; facial features like beak nose, thick lips and long beard are well represented. He has a knit cap and eyes are covered with a bandage. He wears a thigh length parka or heavy jacket with wide collar, two large side pockets with flap covers and shoulder boards, jeans and leather shoes. Under his jacket, he has a hand-knitted pullover. Cloth folds and wrinkles on jacket and arms, tied hands, rope and trousers are well defined.

FIGURE-2 : MW3536

This one is another standing posed figure with hands on his head. He has a waist length coat with two slit pockets on sides and elastic cuffs. Gloves on the right pocket is a nice touch. He has trousers with two side slit pockets and two rear pockets with covers and sports shoes. Facial details, beard, hands on head and scarf covering eyes are well defined.

FIGURE-3 : MW3537

Posed sitting on his knees with hands tied on back; scarf on his face covers his eyes, nose and mouth. With his hair style and no beard, he looks like a younger guy. He wears a thigh length parka with hood pulled down on his left shoulder. Cloth folds , shoulder boards, side pockets, hands tied on back and rope are nicely sculpted. He has a sweatshirt under his parka, jeans and feet are sculpted with no shoes that can be painted as bare feet or in socks like the boxart.
Conclusion

This is a nice three figure kit to be used in Modern Wars scenes. Nicely posed and sculpted in crisp details but will need some extra effort to get rid of seamlines before painting.
SUMMARY
Highs: Very nice subject, no assembly with single piece casting. They can be converted for different periods.
Lows: Seamlines will need some effort to clean.
Verdict: Useful figures with no assembly to be used in many modern wars scenes.
