Floor plate Cross type

by: Henk Meerdink [ HENK ]

the product
The familiar clear plastic envelope contains just one sheet of Photo-etched ‘cross pattern’ floor plate. There are no instructions, this really is one for the scratch-builders. Unlike ordinary Photo-etch sets from Eduard, this one is not for a specific vehicle or application. It can be used to replace soft kit detail, or to scratch-build a number of things. Parts that spring to mind are mudguards, floors, running boards, steps, staircases, etc. Measuring 65 by 125 mm, the sheet is large enough to be used for several vehicles or scratch projects. The cross pattern is very fine and crisp, and whilst the plate is thin enough to give a 1/48 scale appearance, it is not really suited to be cut with just a hobby knife. I cut a small corner with my Swan Morton No 11 blade, and it dulls very quickly.

in conclusion
The recommended retail price on Eduard’s website puts it at $19.95 which I feel is a bit expensive, but it will add a nice touch to your models. One for the dedicated detail seekers.
