Blacksmith Workshop

Verlinden’s Blacksmith workshop is a nice starting point for a diorama. I think it could be used for WW I, WW II, Vietnam, Somalia, or Iraq.

This is an all resin kit, and there are some hugh hunks of resin here. You get a large end wall, back wall and roof for the main structure as well as a smaller back wall, end wall and roof for a small side room. You also get a fireplace with a smoke hood and a workbench for inside the building. In a smaller bag is a water trough, an anvil with wooden support, a large and small wooden barrel, a bucket, two water dippers, 4 mallets, a toolbox, and assorted wood support pieces for the roof.

I can see no major warping of the pieces and cleanup looks to be average. I have set the walls on an 8x10 base and there would be no room gor anything else.

There are no instructions included, so this could be a problem for newer modelers.

I think this kit could have had a few more tools (where are the blacksmith’s tongs?) but it is still impressive.
