Due to the slim and long landing gear of Storch, the Tristar model introduces a real metal wire inserted landing gear to withstand the massive weight of aircraft model. The kit included two sets landing gears that represent “Storch” landed and Flying respectively. The landing gear wheels are made by artificial rubber. . New tail wheel included in this kit that introduced in C-3 for fast transition in well paved airfield. Modellers can choose standard tail skid or new tail wheels for their model.

New engine overhead cowling represents C-3 modification with air inlets, both side of engine cowling panels are detachable parts and can be fixed or removed from aircraft as real aircraft. The removed side engine cowling panels are very common practice on Fi 156 C3/Trop for overcoming extra hot climate. About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim)
FROM: NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES

I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...

Hi Jim, That's interesting as my kit also has two canopy sprues and I couldn't see any differences. I too thought it might have been a slipup but as your's has two also I best go back and have a closer look. Cheers Terry A

Great review! I have not built a plane in twenty years. The review push me over the edge! Do you think they will make Fruil tracks for it? Just kidding everyone! Michael

Nice review! Perfect timing, really, as I've returned to my aircraft 'roots' after a long hiatus. I'd prefer modern jets over WWII but this one is really a jewel! I may have to pick one up as I've always like the Storch. Rob

Bob, I'm at work and don't have the kit around to measure, but I'd say the wing span is less than 18" with the length about 12". I picked it up for about $30 a few years ago, likely as somebody's close-out. As this is just appearing, it will likely be for premium prices. The older kit is $38 from Luckymodel plus $9 shipping.

The build review for this kit has been posted over at Aeroscale. It's really very nice. I would love to see more aircraft in 1/35. The wife saw it built and thought it was pretty neat.
