My first scratchbuild...

The JagdPanzerKanone 90 is the Belgian denomination of the KAJaPa (KanoneJagdPanzer). Belgium bought 80 JPk that were in use during the 70 and 80, to be later replaced in the anti-tank role by A-109 Agusta helicopters.

Here is a photo of the JPK of the Musée des Chasseurs à Pied, Charleroi, Belgium:

The first work:

The wheels come from the Revell Marder kit: the JPK and Marder were using exactly the same wheel types...

The front of the tank, and the elements coming just above the wheels and tracks:

Just for fun: dry assembly of the already made parts. There are not correctly fitted of course...

Wheels are sanded and the elements assembled together

4 holes must be drilled in so little parts...

to be followed...

Sorry but the JPK was not replaced by the A109 helicopter ATK but by the AIFV MILAN.

nearly in the ATK Coy of the brigade and by the atk platoon of the infantry bataillon ( 1 platoon of 4 aifv milan) late by the atk milan inside the amoured infantry platoon ( 1 aifv milan for 3 C25mm) and by the atk platoon of the infantry bataillon ( 1 platoon of 4 aifv milan)

Nice. Thought about doing this in 1/35 using parts from the Tamiya Marder kit and the Revell Jagdpanzer Kanone.

Any more pictures of the JPK at the museum?. Haven't found a good shot of the suspension or the SABCA sight.

Thanks!

For what concerns the info that JPK were replaced by A109, I have seen that in my doc. I have to check it again to find the references of that information...

The sides are glued, in good position with the help of a serie of interior reinforcements (that will also help to place the upper elements...)

...That will give something like this:

Of course, there will be some adjustments, minor corrections, etc...

Fascinating subject as I am appreciative of all things Braille scale. Looks like you're off to a good start. Can't wait to see more progress pictures. You might want to post your build in the Braille scale forum as you might get more interest from the small scale community.

Cheers,

Thanks!
Yes, I will have to post that build in the braille scale forum...

I've glued together the upper parts of the tank:

I'm happy with that... But, in the same time, I've decided to stop here what I can name my "first prototype": I will restart the bench, but with a different approach (that "prototype" was a good learning experience for the following).

There are some little mistakes and errors actually: the rear of the vehicle is 1mm too short in high; and the rear of the chassis has not the good angle. More: the plastic I've used for the middle part (a recuperation sheet) is thicker on the left side than the right.

Ergo: starting again!

...But i'm not frustrated anyway: I'm learning how to do a scratch...

Here is a photo of my second attempt. There are two kits: my scratch, and a master I'm preparing for a possible resin edition.

Now, I have to work with miliput... Don't like that, really...

I've worked on the gun(s):

The "all plastic" gun is not finished yet... The little mark on that gun shows the visible part of the gun.

Work in progress. The rear face is not glued yet. The "scratch model" has the left side too short for about 1mm (red zone). That will be corrected soon... Next step: front face; then all the elements of the bottom part.

Next:

I've received the metal gun needed to replace the plastic part:

Preparation of work...

Sanding with flexifile and three different bands

The result:

Miliput in the front and rear:

I've made my episcopes using the "maskol technique". First, you put maskol on a duplicable part:

When dry, you have a very useful element

Fill in with miliput...

The result:

After sanding

...And the Maskol can be used again!!!

Those last days I've prepared a serie of molds from Maskol:

...and, also, have thinked about the final presentation of my kit: It was evident to me that I have to thanks the conservators of the Museum of the Chasseurs à pied; so I decided to represent THEIR JPK...

The maskol molds are in fact just a security, for the case I should broke too many of the original parts of the Marder.

Actual work in progress:

Yes indeed, the Belgian version is very similar to the German one (for the wheels and tracks at least...)
