Thanks Dave. I appreciate your support in my never ending endeavour. I'm sorry it's late, I had inadvertently hidden your profile from display some how. It must have been some time ago, and I noticed it on on of Jerry's blogs, as he'd responded to you, Dave, and I was like, I couldn't see a Dave having posted to his thread. It took me awhile to figure it out

I'm hoping for a few more days of work on it before I start my new job mid month.

The crowd goes nuts as Dave Clark wins the 'Gold' in Slope-Style Roof!🏅

The 'Winter X-Games' is happening just up the road in Aspen as we speak. I'm watching from the comfort of my couch though!🍺Lol!

Thanks Mike. I have mad respect for those nut jobs, crazy wacko types that compete in those games!

They do what we dream of doing...giving credence to the motto: the only thing you have to fear is fear itself!

Kinda bumping this, sorta... I really just want to encourage everyone by saying that I think I am over the mini depression or funk I've been in due to my lighting woes...

And, although you shouldn't begin a sentence with the word and, I will be getting back to the rebuild/finishing of this monster build sooner than later.

I'm busy doing a couple of commissions, painting two goalie masks; and have two more commissioned works after that. I have also started my 3rd job in the same number of months, and trying to open up this course for the season...if the snow would ever stop!!!

But do not despair friends and lurkers....I am closer to sitting at the bench now, than I've been in a long, long, long time!

Dave , get back into it soon , miss your work !!!

If you want these music sheets I can print and mail them to you .
I don't remember where I found them on the web but I saved the ref pic .
The ref pic has the sheets nice and weathered so you just have to cut them out and place them .

I know very well about the periods when you get the "lack of mojo".
It is good to take breaks but at some point you have to buck up and get to it brother !
When you get back into it the indecision will soon be history. It doesn't take long to realize why you like modeling so much,

Ya know Dave, I'm gonna have to learn to play with wires some day myself. This is really good work buddy!

Soon Cheyenne, soon my friend. It's a bit of a shame that I had no gumption over the winter, because I was unemployed and could have spent countless hours on the wiring and other things...

But now it's springtime in the Rockies and the Edmonton area is finally thawing out from its 3rd dump of five plus inches in the last month! And I'm happily employed at another local course. We are planning to open this Wednesday, and I've been hard at it making the preparations....

I am also as stated in the middle of getting several goalie masks painted, which I'm hoping will become a bit of a second income for me... so far, so good.

Thanks for sending the sheet music! I look forward to seeing it up close. Maybe that will be the catalyst for the next update!!!

Thanks again for your support!

Seasonal affective disorder, I think that's what my doctor said once... I kinda thought she was just joking, but I think maybe there is something to it...

That said, I'm now a bit too busy...what a mad, sad, crazy, hazy world in which we live!? I think the indecisiveness is indeed done with, I'm going to finish the lights I've been farting around with, but no new ones. When these ones fail... cest-la vie, or however it's written.

Life is too short to let a little thing like scale lighting of a minor sort waste south of my time, patience and energy! Thanks for your never ending streams of encouragement Bro!

Be prepared for several do-overs, and some frustration perhaps...but I have to say the results speak for themselves usually, if you pull it off!

If may offer a wee bit o advise though Steven, start with the plan to include the wiring before the build begins....way, way, way easier that way.

I don't know what you are doing wrong with the lights.Maybe if you seek out somebody from the model railroad world for tips ? I did so and got excellent help. The light in my shadowbox with the german flashlight burned non stop for about 24 hours last weekend and there is still juice in the battery !

Seeing as there’s a recent trend to revisit completed or uncompleted projects on this forum, I hereby bump this masterpiece and ask “Hey Dave how are you doing & what’s happening?”

Tim, Jerry and Dave... your pleas have been answered! Sorta..

I have taken steps to attempt again to complete this arduous project. I have been spending the past several months on other ventures, namely learning to, and airbrushing Goal Mask's. I have just completed one for my brother and have decided to spend a week or 2 bashing away at sealing this up. Still having some issues with lighting, but I am close to completing the task. then i am going to concentrate on figures, and repairs to the Sturmtiger etc.

There's lots to do, but I am again ready to focus some attention upon this Herculean task. We'll all see how it turns out... for now, let me remind those of you who may not have browsed the previous 38 pages, of the diorama. These pics were taken this afternoon in my backyard.

I wish I had a spot close by where I had a concrete bench with an unobstructed view so my poor looking deck and fence and BBQ weren't so obvious!!! Thanks Stick!

I love the Blues Brothers!

Thanks Cheyenne... yeah... like I said to Nick, I wish there was a place close by where I could easily take this beast of a dio to get some unobstructed views..

I've had a few steaks in my day that havr been as tough as tire rubber... i generally marinate my steak or chicken for several days in a tub of home made marinade... mostly soya sauce, lemon juice, bbq sauce, lots of garlic and some other spices.. sometimes I use ice tea instead of lemon juice.

Gonna work at getting the last of the lighting wired up this week in the evenings. Then on to the figures in still going to add. Then buckle up the engine area of the Sturmtiger. Then...

Thanks for your comments and observations!

Great to see this thread again; awesome work!! that's some serious height on the steeple/bell tower; the guy playing the piano reminds me of the German character in The Eagle Has Landed who the village priest finds playing the organ. As I posted sometime ago I really resonate with the scene as a clergy person. Again, great job!

Don't pity our poor little Winston, Jerry. Our daughter keeps him pretty entertained most days. And he is adopted from another couple who were often traveling, so he is very happy just hanging around us... he's quite old... almost 9 i think too, so he's happy just vegging. No worries though, we enjoy smokies more than dogs!

I loved that movie Brian, and the book is even better! I have the other 2 musicians on the prep line... the violinist is probably 80 percent, and the harmonica player is primed, but that's it.

The overall height is about 80 scale feet if I recollect correctly. The church itself is 72 feet tall from base to top of steeple, and the base of the church is about 8 feet above the street... I think?

The dio sits inside a value village find, a 5 dollar picture frame measuring 18 by 24 inches. It was an empty frame, no picture of cats underneath the foam and plaster!

Thanks for your patience in waiting for my latest posts.. . Life!

Blessings!

Wow Dave, this is beauty! Really like the coloring of the church, looks realistic.
Q: Is the piano from PlusModel? Their catalog is quite insane actually. Can't wait to see the rest of the "congregation", but I will.
